    PBWAB GENERAL MEETING

    HELEN DRAKE SENIOR CENTER

     

     

    MEETING CALLED TO ORDER at 6:30 p.m.

     

    PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

     

    WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS 

     

    Sylvia Iodice welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending.  Each Officer/Director introduced themselves and mentioned which Precinct they represented.  Also introduced was Officer Brandon Epperson and Sgt. Jeff Brandenberger of Cactus Park.

     

    The PBWAB presented Sherry Dudek with a gift certificate for her diligence and hard work for the many years that she was on the Advisory Board.

     

    PRESENTATION OF CARING COMMUNITY AWARDS

     

    The Caring Community Caring Awards were presented by the nominators and people who received Awards for their efforts and hard work in their communities were;  Diane Brest, Justen and Bethany Merk, Jill Hicks, Ben and Dorothy Gillespie, Rachel Stern, Karen Rindy, Lawrrie Fitzhugh, Fred May and Margo and Howard Krahn. 

     

    CACTUS PARK PRECINCT UPDATE

     

    Sgt. Brandenberger discussed how neighboring precincts are partnering with Operation "High Tide", which is a special enforcement operation targeting violent offenders in the Phoenix area.  The operation kicks off April 19th and concludes at midnight April 20, 2013 and is open to all block watches and PNP members.  The command post will be at 27th Avenue and Camelback Rd.

     

    BREAK & REFRESHMENTS

     

    HOME AND FORECLOSURE FRAUD

     

    Detective Jim Owens and Special Agent Eric Spingler gave a presentation on mortgage fraud schemes and white collar crimes, to include; short sale fraud, loan modifications, bankruptcy fraud, rental scams and identity theft with title companies. They discussed how the task force and federal agencies work together to bring cases to the County Attorney's Office for prosecution.

     

    DOOR PRIZES

     

    Tickets were drawn for door prizes. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
