Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board

In Partnership with the Phoenix Police Department

The Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board (PBWAB) is a group of dedicated volunteers. It was formed in 1987 and encompasses all block watches and neighborhood associations throughout the city of Phoenix. We provide a liaison with the City of Phoenix Police Department, elected officials and neighborhood associations.

Mission Statement

The Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board, in partnership with the Phoenix Police Department, supports crime prevention education, by encouraging, promoting and assisting with various methods of block watch education throughout the City of Phoenix.

Crime Prevention Education

We provide speakers, presentations, educational crime prevention materials and informational handouts at our meetings to assist in reaching these goals and educating the community in preventing crime.

As a participant in block watch, you are invited to attend Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board meetings, events, workshops and trainings. Please join us and share your success stories as well as your challenges! You will meet Directors, Police Officers and City Officials from your precinct along with other interested and involved block watch volunteers. We encourage block watches and neighborhood organizations to network and share ideas, accomplishments and concerns during our meeting breaks.

Meetings

Our Executive Board meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, (except June and December). This is a working meeting and it is where we do our brainstorming for our future meetings, trainings and workshops. Our General meetings are scheduled on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except June and December). Please obtain our yearly calendar from any Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board Precinct Director, your Police Precinct Community Programs Coordinator or visit our web site @ www.phxblockwatch.org. Both of these meetings are Open to the Public and are FREE.

Membership

Join in on the fun. Anyone interested is welcome to become a member of the Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board. Membership is at no cost upon attending three (3) meetings in a 13 month period. Request a membership application from a Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board Director. After being a member for one year, you may then be nominated as a Director for your precinct.

Board of Directors

Each Director is a qualified member of the Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board and represents the block watch members in their Police Department precinct. If you have a question or need assistance starting a block watch or revitalizing one, please contact Officer Deb Iodice, City-Wide Block Watch Coordinator at 602-495-0597or e-mail: deborah.iodice@phoenix.gov.
