Director for Office of Accountability and Transparency (OAT) – City of Phoenix

The City Manager’s Office is soliciting public input into the hiring process for the Director of the new Office of Accountability and Transparency (OAT).

Earlier this year, the Phoenix City Council approved an ordinance establishing the OAT, which ensures complaints against Phoenix Police Officers are handled fairly and objectively. The new office may also provide recommendations for training, policy, and disciplinary actions.

The first step in establishing the OAT will be to hire a Director, so the Office of Accountability and Transparency is conducting a survey and is available in both English & Spanish.

Survey (English): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7RHVQ3C

Community Forum WebEx link: https://bit.ly/3E3RMz8

It should take approximately 10-minutes to complete online. The survey is open through Sept 27, 2021. The survey addresses attributes which community members feel is most important in the new director and what priorities that individual should have in establishing this new office.  The survey also includes an opportunity to provide open-ended comments.

The city will host a community forum with finalists for the position at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 30. This online forum will give community members an opportunity to hear directly from the finalists. Residents can submit suggested questions for the forum as part of the survey above.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, in-person attendance at the forum will not be available; however it will be streamed via a public WebEx link, and on the city’s YouTube and Facebook pages as well as carried live on PHXTV, Cox Cable 11.

Thank you for getting involved.
